In 2012 Ethique started making unique formulas from their kitchen in Christchurch, New Zealand.

With their knowledge of chemistry & biology they wanted to create better cosmetics & they weren 't afraid to do things differently.

Since then, they have outgrown the kitchen and set up in their own lab. But their core guiding principle remains the same: healthy products, made with sustainable, naturally derived ingredients.

Ethique was started because hair & skin care needed a shake up: simple, concentrated & sustainable products that deliver on results, without the packaging.

Bars are their answer Š—– no bottles, no harsh chemicals, just good things in high concentration.

They are all about taking beauty products & making them super dense. Each bar is packed full of only good things that will work to bring out the best in your skin & hair.

Why bars?
Solid cosmetics have loads of benefits. They last for ages because they 're so concentrated Š—– one bar of Ethique can last as long as five bottles of its liquid relative. 'First do no harm ' is the priority, this can be done by making solid formulas.

For Ethique, sustainability runs deep. They started making beauty products because they know they can be made better.

But it goes further than just formulas. Ethique package their bars in water soluble paper and compostable boxes, the ultimate in no waste. Just run under the tap to dissolve the packaging or toss in your compost bin.

As you know, what goes down the sink ends up in the sea. That goes for our products too: the ocean is their destiny. The ingredients in Ethique products are carefully chosen with this in mind.

The Ethique lab is powered with 100% renewable energy and we 're proudly certified climate-neutral.

They love natural things as much as you do. In reality it 's impossible to make a 100% chemical free product because everything is made of chemicals (yes, even you.) They use naturally derived ingredients that are effective, healthy and sustainable.

Here 's what they do:
Š—– Find ingredients from sustainable sources
Š—– Put them through as few chemical processes as possible
Š—– Source organic when possible

Ethique doesn 't use:
Š—˘ Sodium lauryl/laureth sulphate
Š—˘ Parabens
Š—˘ Pthalates
Š—˘ Ingredients that form nitrosamines or dioxins
Š—˘ Formaldehyde or formaldehyde donors
Š—˘ Palm oil
Š—˘ Petroleum byproducts
Š—˘ Animal products

Ethique is certified cruelty-free. They don 't test on animals, or use ingredients that are tested on animals.
