Having emerged organically from its inner-city industrial roots, James Street and surrounding area has evolved into a high energy urban pocket - making it the ideal location for conscious.kin’s second store. Currently rebranding from Organic Index to conscious.kin, founders and sisters Rebecca Medcalf, Emma Dowling and Melissa Krueger are thrilled to be launching their second store, showcasing the best of Australian and New Zealand natural, crafted and ethical skincare and cosmetic brands. The precinct offers a mix of over 130 specialty shops, within which conscious.kin will stand alone offering a beautifully curated selection of beauty and body products that will inspire, excite and delight a new evolved and mindful shopper. The store will follow the brand’s already established aesthetic of lightness and minimalism, with cool, neutral tones. “With dedicated space for makeup and wash area, we really envisage a welcoming hands-on approach,  where customers will feel free to test, experiment and discover the products at your own pace,” says Emma. “We are passionate about creating a welcoming and community minded space to hold events and educational seminars.” Having opened the first conscious.kin store on Paddington’s boutique Latrobe Terrace in 2016, it was the vibrant, easy-going and social vibe of James Street that drew the sister’s attention.

A second store is a natural progression for the evolving business; “James Street is fresh and always changing, which keeps everything interesting and enjoyable for people to explore,” explains Rebecca.

“We are very excited to be establishing a worldclass showroom there and are perfectly placed amongst cafe’s, juice bars and the market area with plenty of parking. We are really excited to share our story and the story of our makers with a whole new Brisbane audience and can’t wait to get started!” Follow us on Instagram and Facebook for behind the scenes photos!
