Reach as far back as you feel comfortable.

I have always been a toothbrush tongue brusher thinking that was sufficient. I am truely converted since trying a copper tongue cleaner. My digestion is so much better, skin is clearer, tongue looks healthier and breath is fresher...and It's so satisfying scraping the over night nasties off my tongue first thing in the morning.
